sometimes i think we choose our own futures
in little things
like favorite songs
and what shirt we wore
the day something important happened
but all this happens
years before we can even imagine
what they’ll really mean
and years later
you’ll trace the scar on my thumb and say,
oh, that’s what that meant

i like it less the more i look at it, but thank you ^^;
i still like the idea i was trying to get across, but i'm not sure how well i actually articulated it
